Overview
Palacio de Villapanés proposes 50 unique rooms which feel like a true Sevillian aristocrat.
Inside them the palatial energy combines with the most current design by the GCA decoration studio. It’s minimalist chic style includes the latest contemporary extras such as Apple computers in the suites, Loewe plasma televisions, Bang & Olufsen speakers or Jacob Jensen phones.
The rooms are divided into 4 categories (Deluxe, Grand Deluxe, Palace and Suites). The suites offer views of the city or the magnificent courtyard, and all of them are individually decorated with great style, in a perfect mix of modernity and tradition. The six suites, about 70 m2, reflect the 400 years of history with wooden coffered ceilings, glass windows and palatial ceilings that reach five meters high. Among all the suites, the Torreón Suite (85m2) is the most interesting for being in the dome of the palace, which was formerly a loft.
Equipped with an amazing nineteenth-century marble bathtub, from its private terrace you can see the innumerable churches and steeples of the city, as well as the Giralda and the Cathedral.
The gastronomic proposal of “Los Rincones del Marqués” completes the Sevillian experience of Palacio de Villapanés. It is based on traditional recipes updated with touches of author and using today’s Mediterranean cuisine as a pillar.
In his kitchen chef Jorge Cortés has created an authentic laboratory of flavor that shy’s away from folk stereotypes and allows the diner to travel to the heart of the authentic history of Sevillian cuisine.
The result is feats like the classic Tomato Soup of the 50s or 60s – “the time of hunger,” as he says. Though it has been refined further enhancing its flavor, or peppermint salmorejo. Cortes himself incorporates beef jerky ox to create a different texture.
“Our cuisine is made with the best produce from the South”, says Jorge Cortés. Due to the large selection of suppliers, Cortés is able to achieve culinary excellence.
Los Rincones del Marqués offers the possibility of enjoying one hundred percent Andalusian food. Among its multiple delicacies, the best is the Iberian ham. The Almadraba bluefin tuna seafood casserole and the famous bulltail croquettes are star dishes, which despite the change of menu every six months usually keep at the request of customers.
The exquisite selection of wines to match the chef’s gastronomic creations cannot be forgotten.
This unrepeatable experience is carried out in any of its evocative and unique rooms from the restaurant located in the old cellar of the palace, with white walls, to the tranquility of its patios or its solarium and English Bar, which propose its own snack menu.
The Palace of Villapanés has its own wellness centre: the perfect setting for a deserved break in a hammam, sauna, massage room or temperature contrast shower.
Its refined design includes a “starry” sky and loungers by Paola Lenti. Its ambience is perfect for maximum relaxation.
