Italian tradition within an iconic São Paulo hotel

Something of an institution in Brazil, Rogério Fasano’s vast hotel and restaurant group stretches as far as Uruguay’s stylish Punta del Este resort, but the eponymous restaurant in São Paulo’s Fasano Hotel has remained the flagship since its opening in 1982. Synonymous with style and class, Fasano is known for its top-notch Italian cooking imported from the family’s native Milan more than a century ago.

Head chef Luca Gozzani has been at the helm since 2012, when he moved from the group’s sea-front Rio de Janeiro restaurant, Fasano Al Mare. Having worked at the three-Michelin-starred Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, Gozzani was well-placed to catch Rogério Fasano’s eye when the latter travelled to Italy to hand-pick a head chef for the Rio branch. Gozzani’s specialities include seafood risotto and fish in squid-ink crust with foie gras.
